For Anyone Who Is Taking Celexa

Posted in Group:

I was on 60mgs. of Celexa for several months. About 2 months ago when I went to see my Phychiatrist she brough to me attention that Celexa is a "black labeled bottle" or something to that affect. It is showing that it's causing heart issues. She took me down to 40mg. A few weeks ago I went in for my appt. and she said she would like me to have an EKG just to be safe. I went a few days later for that. About 2 hrs. after the EKG I got a call from her...she said it was not a normal reading. She immediatley started to wean me off and told me I needed to see a cardio doc. Just last week I had a check up with her. She said it showed I had a bundle branch block. Not sure being off the Celexa will work itself out. I don't see the cardio doc until March 5th. Anyone who is on this drug I suggest you talk to your Phychiatrist or doc. Evidently my doctor got a warning paper on it. I'm off it now and only talking Effexor (sp). She had me on both but since I was taken off the Celexa she increased the other med. So far so good.

Thank you! It's good to take precautions and better to be safe than sorry.
